The registered nurse’s group is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in hospitals, aged care facilities, other healthcare facilities, and within the community. The occupations within this group require a skill level commensurate with a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. In some cases, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may also be required, in addition to the formal qualification.
(ANZSCO Skill Level 1)

 

Registration or licensing is mandatory for these roles.

Estimate salary aud$65,000 up to aud$120,000 per year.

 

Tasks Include:

 

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in accordance with accepted nursing practice and standards.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and members of health teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Providing interventions, treatments, and therapies, such as administering medications and monitoring patient responses to treatment and care plans.
  • Promoting health and participating in health education and other activities aimed at preventing illness.
  • Providing information and answering questions from patients and their families regarding treatment and care.
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of Enrolled Nurses and other healthcare workers.

By performing these critical responsibilities, nursing professionals contribute to the overall well-being and improved health outcomes of their patients while also fostering a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.
