The position involves providing clinical care to patients, undertakes clinical organisation and practice administration, and facilitates communication within a general practice environment and between the practice and outside organisations and individuals.

Registration or licensing is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Clinical Care:
  • Provide direct patient care, including conducting health assessments, assisting with examinations, and administering medications.
  • Perform clinical procedures, such as wound dressings, vaccinations, and health screenings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers in the practice to develop and implement care plans for patients.
  • Monitor and manage chronic conditions, promote preventive care, and support patients’ overall health and well-being.
  • Offer health education and counselling to patients on various topics, including disease management, lifestyle modifications, and health promotion.
  1. Clinical Organization and Practice Administration:
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of medical information.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, coordination of patient referrals, and management of medical records.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper functioning.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the practice to optimize workflows and enhance patient care delivery.
  1. Communication and Coordination:
  • Facilitate effective communication within the general practice, ensuring efficient information flow between healthcare providers, staff, and patients.
  • Act as a liaison between the practice and external organizations, such as hospitals, specialists, and allied health services.
  • Coordinate referrals, investigations, and follow-up care for patients, ensuring timely and seamless care transitions.
  • Provide health information and resources to patients, families, and community groups, promoting health literacy and community engagement.
