Occupational Therapists evaluate individuals’ functional limitations caused by illnesses and disabilities, and deliver therapy to help them engage in their daily activities and occupations.

Occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
Registration or licensing is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Estimate salary aud$70,000 up to aud$120,000 per year.
Tasks Include:
- Assessing clients’ emotional, psychological, developmental, and physical capabilities using clinical observations and standardized tests.
- Evaluating clients’ functional potential within their home, leisure, work, and school environments, and recommending environmental adaptations to optimize their performance.
- Planning and directing individual and group programs that incorporate vocational, recreational, remedial, social, and educational activities.
- Providing guidance to family members, caregivers, employers, and teachers on adapting clients’ environments at home, during leisure activities, and at work or school.
- Supplying adaptive equipment, such as wheelchairs and splints, to assist clients in overcoming their functional limitations.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals in overall case management for clients.
- Working alongside other professionals to offer specialized advice to specific client groups, such as those in need of driver rehabilitation, third-party compensation, or medico-legal representation.
- Documenting clients’ progress and maintaining professional relationships in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and ethical guidelines.
