Occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
Registration or licensing is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Estimate salary aud$65,000 up to aud$120,000 per year.
Tasks Include:
- Conducting examinations of patients’ feet to determine the nature and severity of conditions, deformities, and injuries.
- Evaluating and treating foot disabilities caused by diseases such as diabetes, peripheral vascular disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, and other neuropathies.
- Prescribing and coordinating the fabrication of corrective footwear to address foot abnormalities.
- Performing minor surgical procedures to remove or improve abnormal foot conditions.
- Recommending and fitting replaceable pads, palliative and functional supports, and other devices to protect and correct foot abnormalities.
- Providing advice and guidance to patients regarding ongoing treatment and foot care.
- May offer rehabilitation services to individuals with physical disabilities.
- May refer patients to, or receive referrals from, Medical Practitioners as necessary.
