The position involves providing care to newborn infants, and provides advice and training on infant care to parents of newborn infants. Registration or licensing is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing care and support to newborn infants, including feeding, bathing, changing diapers, and ensuring their overall comfort and well-being.
  • Assisting parents in developing essential skills for infant care, such as breastfeeding techniques, safe sleep practices, and understanding infant cues.
  • Educating parents on newborn development and milestones, including physical, emotional, and social aspects.
  • Offering guidance on creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for newborns, including age-appropriate activities and interactions.
  • Assisting with establishing healthy routines and sleep patterns for infants.
  • Providing emotional support to parents during the postpartum period, addressing concerns and offering reassurance.
  • Monitoring the growth and development of newborns and promptly reporting any issues to healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as midwives and paediatricians, to ensure comprehensive care for infants and their families.
  • Keeping accurate records of care provided and maintaining confidentiality.
