The role of an ICT Quality Assurance Engineer (also known as Quality Analyst (ICT)/Quality Manager (ICT)/Quality Specialist (ICT)) involves creating, maintaining, and managing technical quality assurance processes and procedures to evaluate the efficiency, validity, value, and functional performance of computer systems and environments. The engineer is responsible for conducting audits to ensure compliance with accredited internal and external industry quality standards and regulations. Additionally, they may supervise the work of ICT quality assurance teams.

Your responsibilities include:
- Process and Procedure Development: Developing and maintaining technical quality assurance processes and procedures. Establishes guidelines and frameworks for evaluating the efficiency, validity, value, and functional performance of computer systems and environments. Define testing methodologies, documentation standards, and quality control measures.
- System and Environment Evaluation: Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate the performance and reliability of computer systems and environments. Applies testing techniques and tools to identify potential issues, assess system functionality, and ensure adherence to defined requirements and specifications.
- Compliance Audits: Performing audits to ensure compliance with accredited internal and external industry quality standards and regulations. Reviews processes, procedures, and documentation to verify adherence to relevant standards, such as ISO, ITIL, or industry-specific regulations. Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for compliance enhancement.
- Test Planning and Execution: Developing test plans and strategies to validate system functionality and performance. Identifies test scenarios, creates test cases, and coordinates with development teams to ensure adequate test coverage. Execute tests, record and analyse results, and report on findings, collaborating with stakeholders to address identified issues.
- Defect Management: Managing the identification, tracking, and resolution of defects and issues discovered during the quality assurance process. Utilises defect tracking systems, communicates issues to relevant teams, and monitors the resolution progress. Provide feedback on defects to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Quality Assurance Team Supervision: Overseeing the work of ICT quality assurance teams, if applicable. Engineer provides guidance, assigns tasks, and ensures the team’s adherence to established processes and procedures. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improving quality assurance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and value. Identifies opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and standardisation. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to incorporate innovative approaches into quality assurance activities.
